This final episode wraps the story up brilliantly. What I found most compelling about this final episode was the powerful message of letting go of your fears (yes, step out of the boat) so you can step into your destiny. We have been wonderfully made not to surrender to our fears, but to lean into them in faith, so we can realise all that God has for us.We see the message demonstrated by both Eden and her mother, Kathryn. In doing so, both of their lives are transformed. It's also especially wonderful that we see the power of Eden forgiving Kathryn, enabling the latter to step out of her boat which brings the two of them freedom.
And Olivia Strauss, who made such a strong impression in Ep1, reappears in this final instalment. I hope we see her again in future works.
I love reading a novel like this and look forward to reading more of them.

Ted Dekker has a way of taking extremes to extreme levels.
His writing challenges my own reasoning, perceptions and always demonstrates a picture of Love winning against evil.
I appreciate his ability to even go "places" politically and religiously in+correct.
Dekker never ceases to amaze me still-by weaving annointed story lines, contrasting redemptive&clean to the very real portrayal of the menacing/dark battle going on!!
Once Ted flips the Light switch on, we see the stark reality of how Big Good is in contrast to the very opposing force.
As usual Dekker did not disappoint!
Had a great ending that I will let you see for yourself!
Alice had a long hard road ahead of her, but in the end her eyes are opened to see what really matters!
Dekker's books are fiction, but they always hold so much truth for us. Thats why I keep reading. He gives us truth in a way we can except and understand, and have the ride of our life along the way!
No matter if you are Christian or not you will love it!
A mind twister with lots of intrigue to let you learn something about yourself or just go along for the ride its amazing!
If you've seen my first 3 reviews on the first 3 episodes then you know I've been really excited about the Water Walker stories, however; I'm a little disappointed with the finale. The writing is still great and the element of suspense is still there, but the ending left me unimpressed and a little confused. I love a happy ending and I feel I got that from this story, but once I got over the hill of suspense I felt like the rest was kind of rushed and didn't make much sense. I understand it's a short story and some things are to be left to the imagination, but I'm left feeling so incomplete. I have so many questions. Perhaps that's what the author was going for, and always leaving a little mystery behind even in closing. This was the first I've read anything by Dekker, and I believe I will check out other things from him despite my issue with the ending of the story.
This last book in the series brings Olivia and Stephen back together with Alice/Eden in terrible danger.
Kathryn had given her life to Zeke hadn't she? He had saved her. She had to follow him no matter where it took her. She must do as he told her. Or does she?
Who will save Eden from this hell on earth? Olivia, Stephen/Outlaw? Or will Eden find the strength to save herself?
Another great series by the master storyteller, Ted Dekker. This is no less of an edge-of-you-seat thrill read than any of his other books. The reader will be highly impressed and look forward to reading any and all of his other novels.
Ted take you through a story that every Christ Follower should read. Coming off a incredible Easter season, it is more urgent now the. Ever broke to get this story out. Look at the world around us everyday, is filled with people full of fear, fear of losing the jobs, their sanctuary of their home, fear of losing their family, and even their live. Why? Do you ask.......the answer will be found in Water Wakker. Every signal CF needs to be awakened, to what is real, what God truly has for them. To live with their Eyes wide open. The power of the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power we have, if we choose to be awakened, and live our lives with eyes wide open to what God has for us. This is a must read book for any one that calls themselves a True Christ Follower
My wife sometimes tells me, that I act as if the rules do not apply to me. They never have.
The rules which don't apply to me are the rules I have constructed around my own fears. Ted Dekker, in this simple book, offers a glimpse into a life unfettered by fear, worry, grievance, guilt, loss or pain. It is not that these are not felt by all of us; some are very deeply. It is just that we give them such incredible power over ourselves, that we become lashed to their pain. We cannot imagine a life without them or their effects.
But perhaps there is one. And perhaps they have no real power ( since the person on the subway next to us is unaffected by them, and to even recognize them in me would take a significant, vulnerable conversation. ) they really only exist in our memories and mind. And when we forgive? Ahh, there is the true source of rule breaking. Suddenly, the world has no power over me, and I am finally free to love it back.
Using the scripture of Jesus calling Peter to walk on the water to Him, the author challenges us through his characters to also become "water walkers". Forgiveness and total trust are required to walk on water, and we often fail when we center on our circumstances and the emotions brought on by our preoccupation with our bodies (called costumes in the book). Eden's attempts to become a "water walker" are finally realized. Ted Dekker says we need, "A whole new operating system to transform the way you think and see the world. Being transformed by the renewing of your mind." Although I'm still not sure about the character, Stephen, or the Outlaw, it makes me want to read more of Ted Dekker's books that include this character, and I believe I grew in my faith with this challenge to be a "water walker".
